Black-and-white ruffed lemur Jonatán & spol

Paty & Maty
Jonatán & Gabika

They come from privat zoos, and from unsuitable conditions from private owners, where they often served as house pets or as an attraction for people.

The black-and-white ruffed lemur belongs in the order of primates, suborder strepsirrhini, family lemuridae, diurnal lemurs. Just like other lemurs, they are the inhabitants of Africa. They live in the eastern rainforests of Madagascar.

The population of the ruffed lemurs has been declining in the last 27 years, having dropped by 80%.

The females are the leaders in a group of lemurs and they are the most active protectors of their territory.
