Donkeys live in a wild form in the African continent, but also here they are on the list of nearly extinct animals, because the civilisation expansion is pushing them out of their pastures.

They were domesticated sooner than horses, already in neolith - about 6000 years ago - in Ethiopia and we can find a reference about them also in the Bible.
